Privacy Policy
Last updated 12 October 2026. This explains what personal data lumiere-noire.com collects and why.
1. Who We Are
Lumière Noire is a photography studio based in Paris, France. For any question about this policy or your personal data, contact us at booking@lumiere-noire.com.
2. What We Collect
Contact form: your name, email address, and message, sent to us to respond to your enquiry.
Booking: when you book a session through Square, Square collects your name, email, phone number, and payment details directly to process your deposit and manage your appointment. We access this information from Square to fulfil your booking, deliver your photos, and, where you have consented, for marketing purposes.
Site usage: pages visited, general location (country/region), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site (for example, from a Google or Meta ad), collected automatically through the analytics tools listed below.
3. Third-Party Services We Use
Square — processes payments and manages bookings. See Square's own privacy policy for how it handles your payment data.
Resend — delivers emails sent through our contact form.
Google Analytics & Google Ads — measure site traffic and ad performance.
Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel and Conversions API — measure ad performance, including a server-side report confirming a booking was made, sent using hashed (non-reversible) contact details where applicable.
Microsoft Clarity — records anonymised session behaviour (clicks, scrolling) to help us improve the site.
Vercel Analytics — aggregate, privacy-focused traffic statistics.
None of these providers are permitted to use your data for their own independent purposes beyond what is necessary to provide their service to us.
4. Cookies & Consent
We use a cookie consent tool (CookieYes) that lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies, including analytics and advertising cookies, when you first visit the site. You can change your preference at any time through the cookie settings link in the site footer.
Strictly necessary cookies required for the site to function are not subject to this choice.
5. How Long We Keep Data
Booking and payment records are retained as required by French accounting and tax law.
Attribution data used to match an ad click to a completed booking (a cookie identifier linked to a hashed email address) is stored for a maximum of 30 days and then automatically deleted.
Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to respond to your enquiry, unless you become a client.
6. Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email booking@lumiere-noire.com. We will respond within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL) at www.cnil.fr.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.
